The V. A. Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia is the country’s only multidisciplinary specialized center providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of tumors.

The Center was founded in 1946 as the Research Institute of Radiology and Oncology and was renamed the Fanarjyan Scientific Center of Oncology in 1985.

In recent years, the interior of the 40-year-old facility has been completely renovated, and state-of-the-art medical equipment has been acquired, making the Center more comfortable for patients while further strengthening its position as Armenia’s leading cancer care institution. Several of the technologies recently introduced at the Center are unique in Armenia.

The National Center of Oncology provides a comprehensive continuum of cancer care—from the initial diagnosis of tumors through multidisciplinary treatment, continuous patient follow-up, and palliative care.

Our Services Include:

• Medical consultations and patient registration
• Diagnostic services
• Surgical interventions and treatment
• Chemotherapy
• Radiation therapy

Approximately 70–75% of patients with oncological diseases in Armenia receive treatment at the National Center of Oncology.

Annual Patient Volume

The Center provides care to more than 30,000 patients annually, including:

• 15,000–16,000 outpatient visits
• 16,000–17,000 inpatient admissions

Each year, the Center performs approximately:

• 6,000 surgical procedures
• Treatment for approximately 13,000 patients requiring chemotherapy
• Treatment for approximately 1,700 patients requiring radiation therapy
