The National Center of Oncology continues to actively participate in the global "Make Sense Campaign" initiative, which aims to raise awareness about head and neck cancer, promote early diagnosis, and contribute to the development of preventive healthcare measures. This campaign has been implemented in Armenia for several years, uniting leading specialists, healthcare institutions, and public organizations.

The initiative is coordinated by the European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) and organized in Armenia with the support of the V.A. Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology and Viva Fund. Make Sense brings together specialists from various fields, from head and neck oncologists to maxillofacial and plastic surgeons, radiation therapists to social workers, psychologists, and dietitians.

During the Make Sense 2025 campaign, an educational visit took place in Sisian on September 13-14, where community doctors had the opportunity to listen to invited specialists and exchange experiences. On September 19, a conference on maxillofacial cancer awareness was held in Yerevan, where specialists discussed modern methods of prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of head and neck cancer.

NCO specialists have been coordinating the "Make Sense" movement in Armenia for two years. Reports at the conference were presented by maxillofacial surgeons Hayk Babayan and Sergey Ghazanchyan from the S. Seinyan Department of Musculoskeletal Oncology, Dr. Sergo Mkhitaryan from the Department of Distance Radiation Therapy, and Dr. Karine Soghomonyan, a Medical Oncologist from the Department of Medical oncology. Their speeches highlighted current issues in head and neck oncology, the latest treatment methods, and the importance of early diagnosis.

The conference also featured an invited speaker from abroad: Ph.D. Alexander Mordovskiy (P. Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, Department of Head and Neck Surgery, surgeon, microsurgeon, oncologist), who presented a report on "Errors in the Diagnosis of Malignant Neoplasms of the Oral Cavity."

Head and neck cancer is one of the types that is often diagnosed in late stages. The "Make Sense" campaign, developed by EHNS, aims to raise public awareness and encourage early seeking of medical attention and diagnosis. The V.A. Fanarjyan National Center of Oncology emphasizes its involvement in this international movement, contributing with the experience and knowledge of its specialists not only to medical care but also to public health awareness.
